the spirit world

The world of spirits is rather like our own world, and the newly dead are often unaware of their transition, and linger on, still trying to gratify their carnal desires. However, unlike in our world, where we can say one thing and think another, the spirit world is a state of being, where you simply are what you appear to be. Everyone there speaks the way they think, and displays their true intentions in their expressions and gestures. In the spirit world there is no avoiding the truth. If your true nature is soul centred, then the spirit body is soon let go of and dissolves, but if your true nature is body centred, then the spirit body remains intact for a prolonged period in the spirit world, in a "heaven" or "hell" of your own imagination. Time and space do not exist there as they do in our world. Time there is measured as in dreams, not in days, weeks, or years, but in changes in state. Likewise, space is travelled via changes of state. Distances are measured, not by physical location, but by degrees of empathy: spirits of like mind are near each other.
