In 2007 I established the Spiritual Sun website at http://spiritualsun.org . My idea was to foster a community of people who were interested in enlightenment and spiritual progress in a universal, rather than religious, way, and to provide a discussion place and information archive. This project turned out to be a major learning experience for me. I had underestimated the difficulties of running a forum - trying to find a balance between allowing free speech, and keeping the site on-topic and the contents to a high standard. Any earnest seeker of the light will go through a lot of upheaval on their path, releasing pent up emotions from past experiences. I found that one rogue member, allowed free rein for even a short time, will scare off the gentler souls that the site was aimed at. I also found that few people are interested in discussing spirituality in any meaningful way, and this makes sense, as it is something to experience, rather than something to analyse. As we progress in spirituality, we have to at some point leave the intellect behind. As an intellectual I find this difficult.... but I am making efforts to simplify and merge my ideas and activities. In spirituality, minimal is maximal.
With this site, deepian.com, I am taking a different tack from Spiritual Sun. Rather than trying to serve the world, I am now focusing on serving myself. I am archiving and indexing (via a glossary and extensive hyper-linking) the writings that I have accumulated over many years of seeking first myself, then enlightenment, and now transformation to The New Paradigm. I am sure that this exercise will benefit me on my spiritual journey, and I am doing it here in the public domain in the hope that some others may take benefit also. For now I am not allowing comments on this site, as I am seeking peaceful contemplation rather than the babble of social networking.
